Seafarer´s exam
 

CMSC Examination Center, authorized by China MSA, undertakes organizing of the national examinations for seagoing seafarers, inland river seaman, sea pilots, magnetic compass adjusters, seamen on non-self-propelled vessels, and ship surveyors, which includes test content pool building, test paper making, paper marking , grade announcing and result checking.

 

Since 1994, CMSC Examination Center has succeeded in organizing all national seafarer competence examinations (NSCE), which has undergone a step-by-step change from traditional paper examination mode to the present computerized examination.Up to now, 45 times of paper tests and 46 times of computerized terminal tests have been held, and more than 200,000 seafarers have attended NSCE.

 

Since 2003, authorized by China MSA, CMSC Examination Center has been undertaking the competence examination organizings for inland river seafarers working in ships on the Yangtze River. Counting on the experience of NSCE, CMSC Examination Center formulated strict and standard working process to guarantee the quality of the examination. Up to now, 13 times of examinations have already been organized and the number of examinees has surpassed 150,000.

 

Although the number of examinees of sea pilots, magnetic compass adjusters, seamen on non-self-propelled vessels, and surveyors examinations is much smaller than that of seafarers, the examination procedures are as strict and standard as IRSCE exman. The management of paper making for sea pilots, magnetic compass adjusters, and seamen on non-self-propelled vessels has been affiliated into the computer terminal testing system of IRSCE exam. The separate testing system for ship surveyors is under development as well. All these examinations will be conducted at computer terminals in the near future.
